Original art.

In addition to producing novels and other writing, Treetangle is planning on creating one-of-a-kind embroidered wall hangings, and eventually prints of pen and ink Treetangle designs. Original art is time consuming, but the plan is to release pieces that enhance not only Treetangle's fiction, but stand on their own as well. New addition: Treetangle has begun painting rocks for commission, in addition to writing books and editing other author's novels. LOL Why can't there be more time in the day?

You will have to be patient with this page... it will be further into the year, possibly 2018, before this page begins to fill up!

About the artist.

Cynthia Moyer has been creating art: drawing with pencil, pen and ink, and colored pencil since she could hold a pencil. In high school she focused on art, took calligraphy lessons for a year, and built up a small portfolio of work. She also began sewing at age 5, learning on her grandma's ancient peddle Singer machine, making doll clothes and tiny quilts. In elementary school, everyone had to learn the recorder -- she made little drawstring bags for the recorders and sold them for $2 each. In fifth grade the class was learning about Hawaii and she made and sold "grass" skirts made from elastic and streamers. All of that was nothing but fun! In college, she had one full year of art school, but suddenly it wasn't fun anymore. When the frustration became too great, she dragged her portfolio to the dean's office toward the end of the year and asked why she wasn't getting it. He looked over her work and said, "I see the problem. You're an illustrator. We don't teach that here. This is a fine arts school." That was a bad day.

Through her twenties, after being tossed out by fine arts school, she channeled her creativity into illustrating everything from soup signs at the local coffee shop, posters for local bands, and in college she used her illustration skills to create trail guides and trail signs for a state park in southern Washington. In love with the forests of the Pacific Northwest since moving there in 1985, it was a good fit.

Since college, art has morphed its way into cake design using icing/fondant to achieve the desired results, personalized pillows for nearly every friend her daughters have made, digitally coloring comic book art for other artist friends, and designing book covers for herself and others.

Instead of being something to do for a living, art has always just been simply how she lives, but this time, Treetangle will be the vehicle to take her creativity out for a spin.
